I’m a PhD student in the Diversity in Development Lab at the University of California, Santa Cruz where I investigate how children learn and make meaning from the relationships, cultures, and environments that shape their lives. Central to my work is critical theory, relational epistemologies, and a personal commitment to reflective and contemplative practices.‍ ‍

Beyond the lab, I spend a lot of time doing “ethnographic” work raising my own two young children. Motherhood has become one of my greatest teachers, continually reshaping the questions I ask as a researcher and the way I understand learning, connection, and care. I write about that experience here.

I love my family, shared laughter, sunshine on my face, the first sip of coffee, a garden, full moons, falling asleep to the sound of peepers, skiing, hiking, and surfing. Mostly in that order.

I am lucky to live, work and play in the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe, now stewarded by the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band; but I will always call the Green Mountains home.
